Legion Team Members to Attend Bahamas Conference

The management of Legion, an interactive marketing firm, recently announced that top-performing team members have been selected to attend the company's national leadership conference in the Bahamas.

“This annual retreat is reserved for the firm’s top-level performers,” cited Alon B., Legion’s director of operations. “We’re pleased to have had team members that met the criteria to attend.”

Alon noted that the Legion team members selected for this all-expenses-paid trip exceeded performance milestones. “I’m pleased to be able to reward them with this exciting opportunity,” he added. “The Bahamas trip is a mixture of relaxation, luxurious accommodations, and networking opportunities. Our associates will meet with some of the top leaders in the industry, as well as other regional stars.”

"Airports in particular get crazy this time of year,"

The event will feature recognition for hard work as well. “At Legion, we believe in celebrating and rewarding dedicated efforts to help brands meet their stated objectives,” he shared. “Trips are part of the incentives we use to motivate and inspire associates to give it their all. Team members have multiple opportunities throughout the year to travel to other conferences as well as other regions. We also offer advancement, as well as professional development.”

Legion’s Director of Operations Shares Business Travel Tips

As Alon noted, the Legion team is accustomed to travel. Therefore, the group has amassed a few tips that can be useful to business travelers, especially going into the busy holiday season and winter weather. “Airports in particular get crazy this time of year,” he said. “You need to anticipate long lines, mad dashes to the gate, and delays, of course. However, if you plan ahead, you’ll be ready for whatever you face.”

The first tip Alon shared was to bring carry-on whenever possible. “This will save you considerable time and money, given that checked bags are no longer free on most carriers,” he said. “If you can, just pack a small bag. You can bring both that and a computer bag on board.”

Fliers might face longer waits in gate areas, so Alon recommended a few tips to make use of the time. “Bring your laptop or iPad with you so you can access your e-mails,” he offered. “This is a good time to sift through your non-urgent folder. If you bring headphones, you can use this time to listen to a podcast or watch a short eLearning video.”

“Reading material is helpful, especially if you’re facing a long delay or flight,” he added. “If you’re like me, you’ll maximize this time to gain more knowledge.”

While stating that using travel time to catch up with work is optimal, Alon advised against making numerous business calls or conference calls. “First, it’s distracting to everyone else around you,” he said. “Second, the din of the airport terminal makes reception iffy and harder to hear. Other than brief check-ins with the office or loved ones, keep your phone in your bag.”

“We’re pleased that we can offer travel options to our team,” said Alon. “There are so many benefits to this opportunity for both the associates and the firm. This Bahama trip is special, but the other excursions are exciting as well. They just add to the reasons we work here.”
